Commonly used BAI materials for oil seal include: nitrile rubber, fluororubber, silicone rubber, acrylate rubber, polyurethane, polytetrafluoroethylene and so on. When selecting the material for oil seal, the compatibility of the material to the working medium, the adaptability to the working temperature range and the following ability of the lip to the rotating axis at high speed must be considered. In general, the temperature of the lip is 20~50℃ higher than that of the working medium, so attention should be paid to the selection of oil seal materials.
For details, please refer to rubber type and characteristics. The working range of oil seal is related to the materials used for oil seal: -40~120℃ for nitrile rubber (NBR), -30~180℃ for Alec rubber (ACM), and -25~300℃ for fluororubber (FPM).
Oil seal is used to seal oil (oil is the most common liquid matter in the transmission system, also refers to the general meaning of liquid matter) mechanical components, it will drive components in the need of lubrication and output components isolation, not to let the oil leakage. Static sealing and dynamic sealing (general reciprocating movement) with seals called seals. The representative form of oil seal is TC oil seal, which is a rubber fully covered double lip oil seal with self-tightening spring, commonly referred to as the oil seal often refers to the TC skeleton oil seal.
